Cultura Nativa does not even try. We believe nature is meant to be integrated into design, culture is meant to be shared, and respect is meant to be earned.
Each of our pieces is made from woods local to the Mayan region of the Yucatán in Mexico. Our artisan partners harvest and handcraft each article of wood through the traditional and sustainable processes that have been passed down since antiquity. Rather than fight the natural curves and appearance of nature, they incorporate them into each piece.
Few, if any, brands can claim to provide contemporary designs from an ancient culture. CNS collaborates with the Mayan community to share their rich cultural heritage with the world through each of our one-of-a-kind pieces. As true partners, CNS returns value back to the community through profit-sharing and investment to help ensure the longevity of one of earth’s oldest cultures.
From the moment a tree is selected for harvesting to the moment one of our unique, handmade pieces is delivered to a client’s door, CNS handles all steps in the process with respect. Respect for nature and eco-sustainability, respect for the communities we source our pieces from, respect for our partners and collaborators, and, ultimately, respect for our clients who always come first.
