Description
The most artistic piece in our collection, this side table from the brand Kukulcán has Mayan engravings on all three table “legs.” This brand’s master artisan is known in his community as not only a wood craftsman, but a painter and artist.
The winding branches of the Cedro tree serve as the legs for the cross-section of a Cataloch trunk.
This table is made from Spanish cedar, or Cedro as the community refers to it, which is known for its aromatic resin which contains rot- and termite-resistant properties. The second wood used is Mexican ebony, known as Cataloch to the community, which has a much darker hue and is known for it’s strength and rot-resistance.
